Delete your Luura account

Who this applies to

This page explains how to delete a Luura host account — the account you create in the Luura app to set up a roll and invite guests.

Guests do not have an account. If you joined someone else's roll and want your photos removed, use the deletion link on the roll's photos, or ask the host to remove you.

Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.

• Open the Luura app and sign in.
• Go to the Settings tab.
• Tap Delete account.
• Confirm when asked. You are signed out straight away and the erasure starts.

If you no longer have the app

Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your Luura account. Sending from your own address is how we confirm the request is really yours; if you cannot, we may ask you for something else that proves it.

We confirm by email once the deletion is complete.

What is deleted

Everything below is erased permanently. It cannot be restored, by you or by us.

• Your account, your email address, your name, your language setting, and any unused sign-in codes.
• Every roll you created, including its name, date, settings and share link.
• Every photo in those rolls — originals, processed images and thumbnails — including photos taken by your guests.
• Your guests' records for those rolls, including the display names they chose.
• Push notification tokens and the notification history for your account.

Deleting your account deletes your guests' photos too, because those photos live in your rolls. Tell your guests to save anything they want to keep before you delete.

What we keep, and for how long

Two things survive deletion, and neither can be traced back to you.

• A record of any purchase you made — the store, the product, the transaction number and the date — with the link to your account and your roll removed. We keep this so a receipt cannot be redeemed a second time, and because accounting law requires a transaction record to be retained for up to 10 years.
• A dated note that a deletion was requested and completed, carrying no name, email address or other personal detail. It exists so we can show that we honoured the request.

How long it takes

The erasure runs automatically and normally finishes within minutes. In every case it completes within 30 days, as required by Article 17 GDPR.

Copies held in encrypted backups are overwritten as those backups rotate, within 30 days of the request.

Payments and refunds

Purchases are sold by Apple or Google as merchant of record, not by Luura. Deleting your Luura account does not cancel or refund a purchase, and it does not affect the records Apple or Google keep. For a refund, contact the store you bought from.

Deleting your account does not restore an unused tier upgrade. The purchase is spent when it is applied to a roll.
